Jake VanAusdall focuses his practice on employment law, housing and construction defects, condominium and homeowners' association disputes, intellectual property, and whistleblower representation. He has a special interest in protecting persons with disabilities from discrimination in their everyday lives by helping them improve access to local businesses, educational institutions and recreational facilities and by ensuring that these accommodations are in full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Part of his practice also includes defending business owners in ADA lawsuits and DOJ proceedings.

In his employment practice, Jake counsels workers at all levels within the private sector regarding workplace issues that include discrimination, failure to promote, wrongful termination, defamation of character, whistleblower claims, medical leave, FMLA, retaliation, and sexual harassment. Additionally, he helps plaintiffs resolve problems relating to expunctions, non-compete agreements and severance agreements. He gives his clients a voice and diligently seeks justice on their behalf.

Jake extends his emphasis on client protection by assisting individuals with issues relative to contractual disputes or construction defects involving design deficiencies, material deficiencies, construction deficiencies, or subsurface deficiencies. He also works to resolve disputes between property owners and condominium and HOAs or disputes between associations, management companies, and other parties.

Jake received his Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School in New Orleans, LA, and his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS. He completed further study in international contract law and comparative legal systems at the University of Vienna Law School in Vienna, Austria. He is admitted to all Tennessee state courts and has successfully represented clients in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
