Margaret A. Brooke

Margaret Brooke, an associate with Cole Law Group, focuses her practice in the areas of divorce and family law, bankruptcy, entrepreneurial business, and business transactions.

Margaret's passion for the law stems from her desire to help individuals and families in Nashville and the surrounding area who are going through difficult personal issues. Her focus on family law encompasses complex divorce, child custody, grandparent visitation, parental relocation, post-judgment modifications, paternity, pre-nuptial agreements, adoption and juvenile delinquency. She also assists clients who are financially troubled by helping them discharge their debts through either Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings.

On the business side of her practice, Margaret counsels entrepreneurs as well as established companies regarding business organization and transactions, always with an emphasis on building a solid business foundation in order to avoid future litigation. Her range of representation includes formation of corporations, contract negotiation and drafting, buy/sell agreements, employee agreements, employee handbooks, and general legal compliance.

Ms. Brooke received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Mississippi and her Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Georgia, graduating cum laude from both institutions. She also studied International Law, International Commercial Litigation, and International Family Law at the University of Cambridge Downing College in Cambridge, England. While in law school, she was a staff editor and an associate Supra editor for The Mississippi Law Journal.  Margaret was the Appellate Chair of the Moot Court Board and competed in the National Duberstein Bankruptcy Competition two years consecutively as well as in two regional Elliot Cup Bankruptcy Competitions.
