What Are The Four Types of Alimony?

Screen-Shot-2016-02-23-at-2.30.39-PM-1000-ffccccccTransparent-3333-0.20.3-1.pngTypically, one of the first questions a potential client asks an attorney prior to beginning the divorce/dissolution process is, "Am I going to have to pay alimony?" or "Will I receive alimony?" While many clients have a general understanding of what alimony is-the legal obligation of an individual to provide financial support to his or her spouse before and/or after the dissolution of marriage-most do not realize there are different types of alimony. Under Tennessee Law there are four types of alimony: (1)rehabilitative alimony, (2) alimony in futuro, (3)transitional alimony, and (4) alimony in solido. It is important to understand the similarities and differences between these forms of alimony in order to determine which may apply to your divorce.

Pets Often Victims of Domestic Violence

One out of every four women experiences domestic violence at some point in her lifetime.[1] When there is any type of domestic violence in the home, everyone is at risk, including your family pet. Frequently, as a form of abuse, the abuser will target the family pet that provides love, comfort and normalcy to the victim. In the United States, more than 64 million households have pets.[2] Unfortunately, over one million pets become silent victims of domestic violence each year and are killed by abusers.[3]

The Tao of Trump defines "Tao" as "the rational basis of human activity or conduct." Whether you love him or hate him, Donald J. Trump's campaign strategy appears to have tapped into what motivates the 2016 Republican voters on a basic level. At Cole Law Group, we like to discuss creative strategies, particularly winning strategies. And Mr. Trump has caught our attention.
