Tennessee’s laws on cell phone use and texting while driving

Distracted driving may be more prevalent than ever, but that still doesn't make it acceptable. Like other states, Tennessee has laws in place to limit two of the most common causes of distracted driving-- texting, and talking on a cell phone.

Activist estimates distraction fatalities at 3 times federal rate

When Are The Limits of an Insurance Policy Not Really The Limits?

When an insurance policy has limits of $100,000.00, that is usually all one can reasonably expect to recover. However there is one exception to that restriction. This blog addresses the following queries: What are the benefits of uninsured motorist coverage? and Why Should I buy it? Our response to the first question is an unqualified YES. Uninsured Motorist Coverage (UM) is coverage added to your automobile liability policy that protects you in the event you are injured by (1) another driver who has no liability insurance; (2) injured by another driver whose liability insurance limits are insufficient to fully compensate you for your injuries; or 3) INJURED BY A HIT AND RUN DRIVER.

What You Should Know About An Independent Medical Examination

In virtually all personal injury cases, once the lawsuit is filed and your deposition has been taken, the insurance company will set you up for what they call an Independent Medical Examination (IME). YOU NEED TO BE AWARE that this examination is not independent at all. The doctors who participate in this process make hundreds of thousands of dollars every year for performing such exams, from the depositions that follow, and from expert witness fees for appearing in court. They are hired for one reason- TO DESTROY YOUR CASE.
