- Are There Any Specific Laws I Should Be Aware of for Business Compliance Purposes Related to COVID-19?
A: The President signed the CARES ACT into law on March 27, 2020. This act included $376 billion in relief for American workers and small businesses. However, as of April 17, 2020, there is no remaining allocated funding for those loans. See.
A: Yes. In addition to all the previous laws that affect businesses, employers should be aware of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act. This act requires employers to provide protection for employees in some circumstances including those that test positive for COVID-19. It imposes paid or unpaid leave requirements for employees in some situations that employers should be aware of. We recommend reading the US Department of Labor’s website on the subject to better understand how this applies.
